On Friday, April 12th, The Whole Child celebrated our honorees, Michael Schirm and Maria Segovia of Pacific Western Bank for nearly 10 years of commitment to our mission to help families raise emotionally and physically healthy children and have a place to call home. We are thrilled to share that the event exceeding our fundraising and attendance goals and provide the agency with much-needed unrestricted funds for its Mental Health and Housing programs.
The “Starry Night” event took place in their hometown of Whittier, California in the beautiful Friendly Hills neighborhood at the home of TWC Board Member, Alex & Irma Moisa. Guests participated in live and silent auctions, as well as in a raffle where one lucky guest walked away with a two roundtrip Southwest Airline tickets generously donated by Southwest Airlines.
“It takes a village to raise a child and it takes an entire community to lift up vulnerable families,” shares Constanza Pachon, CEO of The Whole Child. “We are incredibly grateful for all of our supporters, partners and the community at large that gathered at The Whole Child fundraiser last Friday to recognize that is takes an investment to fulfill our mission.”
The Whole Child serves over 9,500 children and families annually; it tackles some of the most pressing issues faced by vulnerable communities: child emotional-behavioral disorders and trauma, family homelessness, parental neglect and abuse, and the growing child obesity epidemic. Through its programs, The Whole Child partners with families using a strengths-based approach to create nurturing environments where children can thrive and stabilize families going through challenging times.
