The 2022 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count

| Events, Featured, News

The Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count is a yearly event conducted by LAHSA (Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority) to analyze the trends of people experiencing homelessness. This year, the event took place February 22-24 with The Whole Child taking the lead at the East L.A. and Santa Fe Springs locations.

Due to the pandemic, there were a few changes made to keep everyone safe. These included moving deployment sites to outdoors, hosting the volunteer training sessions online, requiring masks, and asking this year’s volunteers to be vaccinated.

Overall, the need for the Homeless Count is essential. Vanessa Sedano, MPA, The Whole Child’s Managing Director of Housing Services says, “The homeless count is critical in order to have a clear understanding of funding needed by federal and state government to properly service communities and homelessness in each region.”
