Jonathan’s Story: Putting It Into Practice

| Events, Featured

I was at a place where I was lost, kind of. I was always angry and trying to figure out what was going on with me. Marilyn, my therapist, was really kind towards me, she made sure I was being heard. She has always been understanding without judgment, she has been my support in a lot of ways.

When I started therapy, I wasn’t talking very much. As I got more comfortable and started talking more, I was able to get more help. I learned that you get out of it what you put into it. And I learned that you have to implement the skills you learn to do better, put them into your life to get something out of it. That’s what I did.

Now, I’ve just started my freshman year at Rio Hondo College. I want to become an entrepreneur. I want to start my own business and provide for my family.

The Whole Child is whatever you make it, whatever you need it to be. As much as you’re able to give of yourself, those services will be there for you. If you reach out and let people know what you think you may need, The Whole Child team has always been gracious and they want to find a good fit for your child and family.

Since working with The Whole Child and with Jonathan’s therapist Marilyn, I’ve seen the change in him. Now, he’s able to channel his energy into studying, into doing whatever he wants to do. I see a remarkable change and I’m so grateful for that.
