The Whole Child’s Housing Program is actively recruiting for a SPA 3 – Supervisor of Parents as Teachers Home Visiting Program
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The SPA 3 Supervisor will help lead and develop a team of Parent Educators. This position reports directly to the Director of Birth to Five Programs.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY: The Parents as Teachers Home Visiting Supervisor provides overall assistance to staff in the Birth to Five Home Visiting program including, but not limited to, supervision of staff, monitoring completion of all required documentation, chart reviews, staff training and consultation for agency staff serving young children. The Supervisor promotes and models a strength based approach to treatment that empowers families, supports a community based philosophy of service, and ensures that all clinical services are aligned with the agency’s mission, vision, and core values.
- Assist with data collection and analysis for DPH, PAT, annual report, etc.;
- Assists Director in developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with community agencies;
- Assists Director in ensuring that requirements of all contracts are met;
- Assists Director with overall management of the DPH Home Visiting Program;
- Assists or respond to crisis calls and other emergencies as needed (e.g., threats of suicide, school, home or community emergencies);
- Assists with the overall implementation of evidence based practices including program development opportunities using EBPs ;
- Attends meetings and trainings internally and externally;
- Attends monthly DPH and LABBN meetings and other meetings as determined in collaboration with the Director and program need;
- Conducts annual observations of a sample of PAT group connections;
- Conducts in-home observations of parent educators within six months after completing PAT training, at the end of one year, and annually thereafter;
- Conducts trainings for Home Visiting and agency staff on topics related to working with young children;
- Ensures that staff meet legal and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., Department of Public Health);
- Facilitates reflective consultation group for Home Visiting staff
- Maintains a small caseload of clients as schedule permits;
- Participates in administrative and consultation calls (e.g., Data User Group call, HV Leads call, PAT Affiliate Call, etc.);
- Participates in on call rotation and assists with evening closure as needed
- Provides individual reflective supervision to professional and paraprofessional staff;
- Reviews assessments, goals and progress notes of staff;
- Reviews charts on a quarterly basis
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING:
- A Master’s Degree from an accredited School of Social Work or Psychology Program.
- A minimum of (3 to 5) years of clinical experience working with emotional and behavioral problems in children.
- Prior clinical experience working with children 0-5.
- Training in at least one EBP used by the Birth to Five Program (CPP, IY, PAT, PCIT, Triple P), a plus
- Experience working in a community-based setting with culturally and socioeconomically diverse families.
- Excellent written and communications skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage a fast-paced environment.
- Detail oriented, able to follow up on concerns, and maintain accurate record keeping.
- Ability to be an excellent representative of the agency to the community.
- Must be available evenings and weekends as program needs require.
- Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) strongly preferred
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employee may be asked to participate in cross-training programs or pursue additional education or training when it is determined to be in the best interest of the company by the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in normal office setting. Noise level is moderate with occasional loud outbursts. Occasional need to work out in the field contacting clients in homes and schools. Frequently uses motor vehicle to effectively execute job duties.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
Constantly converses with staff and clients
Frequently operates a motor vehicle to travel to home site
Frequently needs to position self in order to effectively interact with children of lesser stature
Occasionally needs to transport materials (food, clothing, books, etc.) weighing up to 50 pounds for therapeutic activities
Frequently needs to use motor vehicle for business purposes.
