Together We Helped 30 Families in Need

On Saturday, March 16th Whittier residents gathered at Joe Miller Field to kick off a day of service to the community.  Over the course of a few days more than 30 projects took place across the city to clean up, repair or help our neighbors in need.  The Whole Child project helped families who recently experienced homelessness receive essentials for their new home.  A shopping experience was set up in the WACC gymnasium with stations for kitchen items, small appliances, bedding, cleaning supplies and home decor.  Each family was matched with a personal shopper to help them navigate the experience with strong runners to help them stage and load all their items.

The Whole Child is incredibly grateful to Love Whittier, Whittier Area Community Church, TWC Imagine Whittier and community volunteers that came out to treat our clients to this special experience.  In the end 30 families recently housed by our TWC Housing Services received needed items to start this new chapter in their lives.  Thank you for putting smiles on their  faces and delivering hope.  Our hearts are wide open Whittier!

What an amazing day!!
