In honor of CalFresh Awareness Month, Food Security Coalition is pleased to invite you to this free action-oriented symposium for all those concerned about and working toward improving food security among residents of southeast Los Angeles County, knows as Service Plan Area 7 (SPA 7). This event will take place on Friday, May 17th from 9:30a – 12:30pm.
Additionally, Sophia Gonzalez, The Whole Child Champions for Change Program Manager, will be facilitating a round table discussion around Nutrition Education during the break-off session.
Event Goals:
- Define and examine the scope of food insecurity in SPA 7
- Provide an overview of food assistance resources and how to access them
- Understand current policies that impact food insecurity
- Create opportunities for collaboration to improve food security
