The Whole Child is actively recruiting for a Communications & Community Engagement Manager.


The Communications & Community Engagement Manager will have the opportunity to create the strategic, integrative Communications plan to dramatically increase the awareness of the impact the work of our agency does to improve the lives of over 12,500 people each year and position The Whole Child as a thought leader in our field.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY: This role is responsible for digital strategy and traditional marketing planning and execution, budget management, department development, community outreach strategy, campaigns and working closely with Development to create a donor communication pipeline.  You will begin with dedicated direct report to assist you in achieving the Communication Department’s strategic goals.  The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Communications or related field.  They will demonstrate a positive and resourceful approach to problem-solving, bring fresh ideas to the table, ability to manage complexity with deadlines, ability to maintain confidentiality, and excited about expanding our impact through communications.

  • Lead content planning, development and execution of social media posts, e-newsletters, agency and program collateral, campaigns, communications
  • Create and instill best practices, follow brand standards and maintain consistency (logo, content, images, etc.) across all channels of Communications
  • Brings fresh and innovative ideas to tell our story and reach our Communications objectives
  • Lead direction for all strategy and tactics in digital and traditional marketing communications
  • Represents The Whole Child in the community, with partners and other key stakeholders
  • Analyzes department reporting on social media, Google analytics and campaign metrics and continues to improve ways to build awareness and increase engagement
  • Owns website maintenance with assistance from direct report
  • On cutting edge of marketing trends, best practices, and technologies
  • Manage all third party vendors
  • Ensure all marketing collateral is in stock for Outreach opportunities
  • Take an active role on the Leadership team
  • Assists with special projects as needed
